ACS fund raiser a great success!

ACS, the American International Community School in Egham, held a fund raising event at the Wine Circle with a Wine Tasting Dinner that raised in excess of £1200 on the night. The evening was supported by 60 parents who enjoyed a three course dinner with five wines contrasting the “New World” with “Old World” wines. Guest speaker Gordon Ritchie introduced the wines over dinner and the evening proved a great success.

The School has adopted the Bingwa Primary School in Northern Kenya and are committed to raising funds and providing physical help to rebuild classrooms and other school buildings. Each year a group of Students visit the School to work on the classrooms and spend time with the children in the School. All the funds raised throughout the year are used to help the Bingwa School community with building materials and providing staff members with plates and eating utensils.

Much thanks went to Carrie Jose, the organiser, who was thrilled with the outcome and support for the event. “We must do it again” she told Sonny Jafri.

Danny Glynn’s team promptly put up £100, which was given to the “MacMillan nurses”. Dennis also won “Nearest the Pin” and “The Longest Drive” was won by Bob Phuna.

Chilean Wine Tasting Dinner

The stars of the show were Von Siebenthals “Carmenere” and “Carabantes”. These two wines have been a sell out at the shop on first and second delivery and are recommended in the run up to Christmas as wines to buy and enjoy over the Festive season or indeed at any time.
